The brief includes the following packages: exterior, landscape, and interior.
There’s a fascination from the client towards cars. We tested the idea to use aerodynamic forms and fibre glass as our main material for one of the rooms. Obviously there is inpiration from Zaha’s Puerta America here.
Another idea was proposed to have fully expandable elements in the room. Beds would be foldable, storages & dispays can be fully covered, and bathtub is concealed beneath floor level.
The client also has a hobby collecting designer toys. He would like these to be displayed in the room. There was also a request for a subtle lighting feature. So we looked into this integrated element of lighting and display.
This feature was designed using Grasshopper in Rhinoceros, where a number of boxes were scattered randomly across our designated wall, and a curve would serve as an attractor. A value would define the strength of the attractor, the box length, and its extrusion.
