ILATAAJ stands for Inter-Linkages of Aptitudes Towards Arrays of Architectural Juxtapositions.   The practice was set up in June 2009 by Andrew Tirta.

Andrew graduated with Project Distinction from the Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory in London.  He was studying under Tom Verebes, Brett Steele, and Patrik Schumacher for Master of Architecture degree.  He did his Bachelor degree in Parahyangan University in Indonesia, where he did his final year under Abang Winarman.

He has worked for  practices in both the UK and South East Asia since 2000.  These include Ken Yeang with bio-climatic architecture; Ross Lovegrove, the world famous product designer; and Marks Barfield Architects, creators of the London Eye.

Andrew has been involved in a number of international exhibitions and competitions.  He teaches part-time as lecturer, tutor, and critic at the Architectural Association, the Royal College of Arts and Tarumanegara University.

The practice is based in Jakarta, Indonesia, has affiliations with Marks Barfield Architects in London, and Ocean Consultancy Network in Hong Kong.
